Spotlight on Piano!

Ben
​

Ben is a pianist, organist, composer and educator, active in the classical and jazz spheres. His hugely eclectic interests range from Renaissance and Baroque counterpoint through to modernist classical music, contemporary jazz, free improvisation, and samba.

​

Ben teaches classical piano, jazz piano, organ, theory, improvisation and composition. In all of these fields he draws on his own wide-ranging professional experience, ranging from accompanying cabaret stars live on BBC Radio 3 to composing new music for the Britten Sinfonia to giving organ recitals in Westminster Abbey. 

​

Tom

 

Tom is a hugely experienced musician and teacher who splits his time between the recording studio, West End theatre shows, live broadcasts and function bands. He has worked on shows including City of Angels, Funny Girl, Dream Girls, 42nd Street and Aladdin. He also holds the lead trumpet position with many of the UK's top big bands.

​

Tom has been in charge of brass tuition at several schools throughout the UK, teaching one to one lessons and groups of students. With nearly 20 years of private tutoring experience under his belt you can be confident your playing will improve at lightning speed with the help of Tom.

Yoav

​

Yoav is currently completing a Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music while also working professionally in London as a sideman in the Jazz, R&B and Musical Theatre scenes. He has played in many groups covering a wide array of musical styles, including Brazilian “Choro” and with many Pop and Rock acts in Israel such as Avi Toledano, Adi Cohen, and playing in Film soundtracks including the award winning “Zero Motivation”.

​

Yoav is very passionate about teaching, as well as one to one teaching he has also taught in several conservatories in Israel, including the Yamaha School of Music, Center of Jazz Studies of Shtricker in Tel Aviv, Yigal Israeli “Virtuoso” music school, Allegro School of Music, teaching a wide range of subjects from ear training and music theory to Jazz history and ensembles.

Ben

Ben is a drummer, percussionist and producer based in North London. He has a Bachelor in music from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied jazz and took a special interest in the music from Africa and Latin America. In recent years he has toured globally with a number of artists including, Alfa Mist, Judi Jackson, Dizraeli and Waaju. 

 

As a teacher, Ben has a number of years experience in both one to one lessons and group settings at all levels. His knowledge of world dance music styles makes his teaching particularly engaging for beginners and involves an emphasis on music making from the first lesson.

Becky Hughes

Becky has been teaching since she graduated from the Guildhall school of Music and Drama in 2011. She has taught for numerous music services across London; coaching ensembles, teaching whole class, small groups and individual lessons. She also teaches students privately in the comfort of their own homes and is a co-founder of NW Music Service. 

​

Becky has performed at many prestigious venues in London and across the UK such as Royal Festival Hall, Arts Theatre West End, Wigmore Hall and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

Sandy Suchodolski NW Music Service co-founder
Sandy Suchodolski

Sandy graduated from The Royal Academy of Music in 2013 and has been working as a teacher and professional musician ever since. He has taught privately, coached ensembles on junior conservatoire courses, led workshops for summer schools and taught school big bands alongside NYJO (The National Youth Jazz Orchestra) and is a co-founder of NW Music Service.

​

As a performer Sandy is as likely to be found in a West End show (Mary Poppins, Funny Girl, Wind in the Willows) Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, The Royal Albert Hall, The BBC Big Band or The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
